The video above shows a Tecdur Switchable Privacy Glass ensuite bathroom project recently completed by one of our installation partners. Tecdur provided the switchable privacy glass custom made to fit into a frameless glass door system with polished edges along with shaped Tecdur privacy partition panels. This gives the homeowner total control of when they would like privacy in the bathroom or to open up the ensuite to be a part of the larger bedroom. This is a great application for this technology and we are working on several other switchable glass bathroom projects.
For this particular switchable glass ensuite bathroom we used our Tecdur Internal White Privacy Glass, which is ideal for internal bathroom partitions. We recommend this for switchable glass bathroom applications, where it fits with the white of the bathroom fixtures and with internal lighting. This Tecdur switchable glass was single glazed at 11.5mm thick but can also double glazed for sound insulation. The finished product is a wonderful focal point in the room, opening up the bedroom space and allowing the light to brighten up both rooms. In this case the Privacy Glass is switched from a single point inside the bathroom, which is the usual configuration.
