Why replace machine safety glass?

Metal working fluids are proven to damage the polycarbonate in machine safety glass. As a result, there is a rapid reduction in impact resistance (ageing). In addition, ageing can cause the polycarbonate to discolour at the later stages and must be replaced.

Therefore, CNC safety windows must be manufactured and installed to protect the polycarbonate. As a result, the latest International, European and British safety standards all now require protection against this ageing.

Tecdur MachineSafe provides protection of the polycarbonate layer from ageing by using a fully laminated system. This maintains safety, performance and clear vision. What’s more, by replacing existing CNC vision panels with Tecdur MachineSafe, the potential for downtime is reduced.

The Tecdur MachineSafe range is accredited to BS EN ISO 16090 (Machining centres, Milling Machines and Transfer Machines) and BS EN ISO 23125 (Turning machines). Please note that BS EN 12417 and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Engineering Information Sheet EIS No 33 have now been replaced by the latest standards. We can help with window replacements to older standards if required.
